SCC Men's Basketball Beats Olympic For Third Time, Sets Up "Big" Game With North Seattle Community College The third time was not a charm for Olympic College on Saturday in their own gym, as SCC and OC played for the third time this season, with SCC making a clean sweep of the three games with a convincing 113-83 win. SCC scored 113, 116 and 113 again in the three games vs Olympic.
The Dolphins raced out to a 56-30 halftime lead and never looked back.
SCC outscored OC 30 to 9 from the three point line, 59 to 33 from the bench and 25 to 10 in free throws.
Shoreline is now 13-8 overall, matching the number of wins for last season with 6 games to go and SCC is on a 4 game winning streak and 5 wins out of the last 6 games. SCC is 7-3 in the region (1 more region win already than last season) and in 4th place a game ahead of North Seattle Community
SCC hosts North Seattle on Wednesday in a "Big" game for the Dolphins as with a win the Dolphins push their hold on the final play-off spot to 2 games with 5 games left in the season. Wednesday is "Homecoming" for Shoreline Community College.
North Seattle is 11-9 on the season and 6-4 in the region. NSCC defeated SCC on January 11th 111 to 99 in the North Seattle gym. Game time is 7:30 PM on Wednesday in the SCC Gym, following the Lady Dolphins game at 5:30 PM.
Lady Dolphins Drop Game To Olympic The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team missed 20 free throws on Saturday at Olympic College and it came back to bite the team, as SCC dropped a 82-78 game to Olympic College in overtime and gave the Lady Rangers their first win of the year.
Sophomore Jenny Voss led SCC with a career high 26 points and added 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists in a strong effort. Sophomore Briana Bergano-Kinney scored 14 points and freshman Kaleigh Phillips added 12 points with a game high 11 rebounds.
SCC was behind 41-37 at half, but rallied to tie the game at the end of regulation but was outscored 10 to 6 in the extra period. The game featured 56 fouls called and 84 total foul shots, but SCC only made 22 of 42 attempts for 52%.
SCC is now 8-11 on the season, 2-8 in the NWAACC Northern Region and the Lady Dolphins are on a 5 game losing streak. Olympic College is now 1-14 on the season, 1-7 in the region.
SCC faces North Seattle CC on Wednesday at "Homecoming" at the college. NSCC will come into the game with a 6-12 record and 4-6 in the region. Game time is 5:30 PM in the SCC Gym.
SCC Athletics Announces 57 Members of Academic Clubs The Shoreline Community College Athletic Department announced on
31 student-athletes earned Green Honors (3.00 to 3.49 GPA), 22 student-athletes earned Gold Honors (3.50 to 3.99) and 4 student-athletes earned "Dolphin Honors" with a perfect 4.00 GPA for the quarter.
The student-athletes will be honored at the "Homecoming" Basketball Games on February 8th by receiving certificates for their accomplishments.

Shoreline had a balanced attack with Avery Scharer leading the way with 14 points and 11 assists. Joe Bodman had 13 rebounds to go with his 10 points. The trio of Earlie Dixon, Evin Jones and Nashon George all scored 13 points, while Will Acromite added 12 and Troy Fiawoo scored 10.
College who is in fifth place. The Dolphins are a 1/2 game out of third place, 1 game out of second place and 2 games out of first place. The top four teams in the region go to the NWAACC Basketball Championship in March.
Thursday 57 student-athletes who qualified for the Green, Gold and Dolphin Academic Clubs for the Fall Quarter of 2011.
Two members of the Lady Dolphin Softball Team had 4.00 GPAs, Carly Grant and Sophie Overlock-Pauley. Women's Basketball was represented in the Dolphin Club by international student, Anita Huang and Men's Soccer by Sam Werner.
