Hi, my name is Brooke Zimmers and I get the great honor to teach incredible students from around the world here at SCC. I believe in an experiential approach to learning and so I infuse my classroom with lively discussion and group activities. Students report that they work hard, learn a lot and have fun in my classes.
In graduate school I studied communication in instructional environments with a focus on adolescents. I have taught at a variety of community colleges since 1992 and full time at SCC since 1999. I have also consulted with corporations like Boeing, community organizations and have worked with homeless youth. Recently I've pursued professional development in the art of storytelling, multicultural understanding and service learning.
Personally I have traveled extensively, climbed many mountains and love most outdoor activities. I prioritizes community and work to create a learning environment where everyone knows each other and builds relationships. |
