Global Affairs Center Team The team of the Global Affairs Center is made up of a cadre of dedicated college faculty, staff and students.
Dr. Lawrence D. Fuell, Director. Larry is Director of the Global Affairs Center at Shoreline Community College, which develops symposiums and other activities designed to raise awareness and encourage engagement on global issues among students, college employees and community members. He also teaches classes on international relations, foreign policy, and politics. Previously, he worked for over 20 years in the U.S. government as a member of the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service. Robert Francis, Dean, Social Sciences. Bob is interim Dean of the Social Sciences Division at Shoreline CC and a faculty member in the Economics Department. He also teaches international studies and is an occasional adjunct faculty member at University of Washington-Bothell and Seattle University. He had been the recipient of numerous teaching awards both at SCC and on other campuses, including being named in 2003 as an Outstanding International Educator at Shoreline. Bob earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from San Jose State University, where he specialized in Economic History and Comparative Economic Systems; his thesis was on the role of economic aid in the economic development of Israel.
Aziza Alhouni. Aziza is a work-study student at SCC who assists with managing website accounts (Facebook and Twitter), distributing GAC marketing material, and updating information in the GAC contact data base. After she finishes English language classes and java programing language classes at Shoreline, she plans to transfer to a Bellevue community college to earn a certificate in Data base administration and c++ programming.
Ruddy Aladina. Ruddy is a student volunteer at Shoreline who assists with distributing GAC marketing material on campus, and managing website accounts (Facebook and Twitter. After earning a two year degree in business administration at SCC, he plans to transfer to a 4 year university to earn a bachelor's degree in business.
In addition, the work of the Global Affairs Center would not be possible without the support of many offices on the Shoreline CC campus, especially the Public Information Office, the Media Center, and the Facilities Department.
