Prerequisites: Classes from another College You will need to show a copy of your transcript from the other college to the English Department , Chemistry Department , or Mathematics Department . This is true even if you have sent an official copy of your transcript to the Enrollment and Financial Aid Services office.
In-State: your classes were taken at a Washington State Community College or Public University Out of State: you classes were taken outside of Washington State
Classes from more than three years ago
Bachelors Degree Students who have a completed Bachelors degree do not typically need to take the Compass test to request entrance to English courses. Please contact the English Department. Students wishing to take chemistry and/or mathematics courses are encouraged to discuss their placement with a chemistry or math adviser. While students may be asked to take the COMPASS test for current placement, in some situations that may not be necessary. Factors include what exact class you've taken, how long ago, what grade and which class you are currently interested in.
Transcript Review Since someone will need to review a copy of your transcript, it is most convenient to write an email and include your documents or transcripts as attachments. However, if you prefer not to put this information “on the net”**, you are welcome to bring it to the department, fax it or send it by US mail.
*Course numbers with an “&” are common course numbers that are consistent across all Washington State community colleges. (More explanation about common course numbering.)
