The Social Sciences Division oversees a wide variety of programs, both university transfer and professional-technical, including history, psychology, economics, and more. We are located in the FOSS Building 5000, on the 3rd floor, (206) 546-4540. Areas of Study We offer a wide variety of courses in the division. Classes are offered in different formats, both on-campus and online. On-campus classes are scheduled throughout the day with morning, afternoon, and evening offerings. Choose an area of study to see class listings.
Transfer Programs Professional Technical Programs Faculty and Staff There are 18 full-time professors and over 33 associate faculty in the Social Sciences Division.

Special Programs
The Center for Service Learning supports the development of meaningful service-learning opportunities that meet community-defined needs, enhance learning by integrating academic curriculum and service, and foster civic engagement, equity, and a sense of social purpose.
Equity and Social Justice includes American Ethnic Studies, Gender & Women's Studies, and Multicultural Studies. Equity has to do with everyone, regardless of race, social class, and gender, having access to fair and equal treatment under the law. Social Justice extends the concept of equity to include human rights as part of the social contract.
The Global Pathways Program at SCC provides students with rich experience to broaden and deepen their understanding of today's global community.
The Honors Program at SCC is designed to offer a challenging curriculum for students planning to transfer to four-year institutions of higher learning or who simply wish to deepen their college experience.
