Student Advising at SCC
Academic advising is a learning process supported by a relationship of mutual respect and collaboration between advisor and advisee.
Every student is assigned an advisor to help chart a path toward obtaining their academic goals in an efficient and effective manner.
Every faculty member is also an advisor, and advice can be sought from a faculty member even if they are not your advisor.
Advisors work with students to assist them with reaching their academic goals and/or transferring to a college/university. Advising is available both in-person and online. Online Advising is handled via email. In-person advising is available by appointment. To schedule an in-person appointment, call: (206) 546-4559. If you do not know your advisor, are not assigned an advisor, or want to change your advisor, please visit Advisor Lookup, Advising and Counseling or Enrollment Services.
A Student may change their assigned advisor at any time for any reason.

For new students, once you have completed your application, you will be asked to attend a New Student Orientation session to develop your academic plans and register for classes. You are asked to attend an in-person orientation session.
