The Testing Center provides a variety of testing services.  We primarily offer the COMPASS (Shoreline's placement test), GED, and proctored exams for academic and business certification.  Detailed information about each test, including fees, can be found on the left sidebar links.

Appointments

Make an appointment for the COMPASS test online.  Make an appointment for a proctored exam, HOBET, or ASSET test, by calling the Testing Center at 206-546-4608.

 

GED registration and tests are offered on a first-come/first-served basis at the times listed on the schedule. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to test times.

 

Payment

Test fees must be paid prior to testing, and are non-refundable, so if you are in doubt about whether you need a test, please contact advising or admissions before making an appointment.  The cashiers are located on the 2nd floor of the Foss building, and usually close at 4:30.

 

Sending scores to other colleges

To have scores sent to another college, bring your official ID to the Testing Center or send us a fax with your signature.  Include your phone number, email address, and all information regarding where your scores are to be sent (person or institution, fax number or mailing address.)

    Don't send scores to the Testing Center for admission purposes; fax them to Enrollment Services at 206-546-5835.
  • Special accommodations
    If you need reasonable accommodation for a test, provide documentation of your need to the Office of Special Services (206-546-4545) prior to arranging a test.  If approved, OSS will arrange for accommodation with the Testing Center.  To request accommodation for the GED, obtain a Special Accommodation packet from the Testing Center.
  • Running Start
    High school Running Start students may need to meet specific score requirements.  For more information go to the Running Start web page.
  • Other tests
    We do not currently offer TEAS or Work Keys assessments, but we may in the future so check our website for updates.  Shoreline does not accept CLEP credits so we do not provide CLEP testing.
