Shoreline Community College has a nationally recognized Veterans' Program.  We are here to support you and help make your experience here a success.

 

Some of the services we offer include:

  • Use of the Veterans Resource Center facility
  • Help in determining tuition discount eligibility
  • Connection with the campus V.E.T.S. Club
  • Help accessing G.I. Bill benefits
  • Military transcript evaluation
  • Specialized advising and counseling
  • Access to on-site Vet Corps representative for assistance navigating the Shoreline system as well as outside resources
     

NEW INFORMATION FOR SPRING 2012:

We now have a Blackboard "course" for student veterans, dependents, and active duty/reserve!  Please sign up using this link and if you have any questions, email Dani Dutro (Counselor/Advisor). 

Our Blackboard course is also a great place to access resources including our Veteran-specific Orientation!

   
SPRING COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION:  
Students graduating from Shoreline Community College who serve, have served, or will be serving after graduation in the U.S. Armed Forces are invited to wear a red, white, and blue honor cord at Commencement ceremonies in recognition of their service to our country. To request a cord, please contact the bookstore or Veteran Programs in FOSS 5226!  

  

VA BENEFITS QUICK REFERENCE CHART:

Your benefits are based on the amount of credits you are taking at the SCC (% of "full time" status affects your Basic Housing Allowance (BAH)):

Credits for Summer

Full time = 8 credits

3/4 time = 7 credits

1/2 time = 5-6 credits

    *less than 5 credits is tuition only

Credits for Fall, Winter, Spring

Full time = 12 credits

3/4 time = 9-11 credits

1/2 time = 6-8 credits

    *less than 6 credits is tuition only
